Find out about hip hop moves, ones you like, ones you've never heard of and ones you want to see again and again.
Quite possibly the most well known of the hip hop dance styles is breaking or bboyin'. It is widely followed today with major events gathering tens of thousands of people from around the world.
Many dance in crews and take part in battles with other crews. B-boyin and b-girlin are considered one of the four pillars of hip-hop culture.
Some of the popular moves of breaking will be covered here. If possible learn from someone that knows the ropes and if you're unsure of something don't risk it.
Be sure to warm up and practise in a safe environment to avoid serious injury.
Toprock
Get your groove moving with toprocking, these are moves done while you are still on your feet.
6 Step
Getting into floorwork, you'll need to know this to begin with.
Baby Freeze
The first type of freeze you'll probably learn allows you to finish with a stylish pose.
Flare
Originally a gymnastics move, this is part of breaking now where your feet spin around but never touch the ground. Amazing huh?
Suicide
As the name suggests these moves look painful. The breaker falls through space often onto their backs.
Headspin
Well does this really need explaining? You spin in your head, people watch and if successful they applaud. Simple!
